I AM A NIGERIAN CORPER AND MY KHAKI FITS ME!!!
I am a Nigerian corper, and my khaki fits me
When i say my khaki fits me, i dont mean in the well tailored fashion of fitted khaki trouser and perfectly adjusted crested vest,neither do i refer to my matching jungle boots..
Rather i say and i mean that i am an individual who has been tested and trusted. Trusted enough to be encumbered with loads and loads of responsibility in her society.
I am someone who regardless of my stature or status is recognised by all forms, bodies and sectors of the country
I am someone who has dedicated myself to obey the Clarion call
I can equally say i be goverment Pikin
I am a survivor, 'cos even a day at the orientation camp with those "tagged monsters"..is a story to tell
When i say my khaki fits me
I mean irrespective of the sour state of d federation and the sorry administration system we currently run, i can boast or modestly gloat of my integrity to serving my country.
When i say my khaki fits me
I mean despite that stipend we receive which may not last a week for even the prudent spenders.., I am still always very ecstatic to shout

Didnt the sages of old talk about Dignity in labour??

The bike men dont have to think twice to call me

Its common knowledge
Oh..my morale is so high
Though to war i may never go
But even in dealing with discrepances in culture, nature, language, lifestyle, food, religion and intonation, i fight a daily war which i must overcome
Then i feel like i am the future part of history
Then our nation's anthem makes sense to me
"To serve our father land with love and strenght and faith"
"The labour of our hereos past.."
Shouldn't we then duff our hats
Or shall we say cap..in respect to not disrespecting the significance and difference in two three lettered words..
Defending our country's name in all faithfulness and honesty
Defending her unity
Upholding her honor and Glory
With God's help.
We are corpers
